Auto Damage Trainee
Entry-level
Multiple
locations available throughout the U.S.
This career track
is well suited for business and liberal arts majors.
Even minor traffic
accidents can be traumatic for our policyholders. As an associate in our auto damage
operations, you're the customer's link to GEICO and our first line of defense
in fraud detection.
As an Auto Damage
Trainee, you’ll first attend our industry-leading
auto damage school. While
in “school,” you will learn the ins and outs of automobile damage caused by
minor to major accidents and natural disasters. After
you complete this training, you’ll work “in the field” assisting customers that
have been involved in an accident.
Our classroom and
field training will give you the necessary skills and knowledge to become an Auto
Damage Adjuster. A typical day as an adjuster will
include: interacting with customers, inspecting vehicle damage, estimating the
cost of vehicle repairs, and negotiating equitable settlements. Your
responsibilities could take you to a policyholder's home, an auto repair shop,
salvage yard or the scene of an accident. You'll be mentored by a Sr. Auto
Damage adjuster until you're ready to go out on the road by yourself.
At that time, we'll
provide you with the latest technology in computer estimating software, a
company car, and the tools you'll need to effectively do your job. You’ll be working
independently and make decisions that affect GEICO’s bottom line.
Our adjusters work
flexible schedules, allowing GEICO to be there for our policyholders. Many of
our trainees advance through this career track and become senior adjusters,
trainers and supervisors. It's all based on your performance and the
possibility for career advancement is outstanding! We periodically offer Auto
Damage supervisory programs in North Carolina and San Diego, Calif.
