DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify opportunities to put the advertising and promotional power of WJMN-FM to work for local businesses.
  • Develop results based marketing strategies and promotional opportunities for clients.
  • Service clients from idea to execution.
  • Reach monthly, quarterly and yearly billing goals set by station management.
  • Effectively communicate goals and strategies with station management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four year college degree preferred
  • Must love to sell, be results oriented and maintain high standards set by WJMN and sales department in all interactions with client.
  • Must be responsible, conscientious, accurate and thorough.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Must maintain a positive attitude when communicating with members of the department, its customers and outside vendors
  • Ability to deal effectively with tight deadlines, and the diverse needs of clients.
  • Radio experience a plus.

COMPENSATION

  • Compensation based on your ability and experience
  • Commission based sales position

  • Prospect and develop new business constantly.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four year college degree preferred
  • Must love to sell, be results oriented and maintain high standards set by the stations WXKS, WJMN & WKOX and their respective sales department in all interactions with client.
  • Must be responsible, conscientious, accurate and thorough.
  • Must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills as well as excellent organization skills.
  • Must maintain a positive attitude when communicating with members of the department, its customers and outside vendors
  • Ability to deal effectively with tight deadlines and the diverse needs of clients.
  • 1+ years of Radio Sales or Outside Sales experience preferred.

POSITION TITLE:
         Local Sales Manager
DEPARTMENT:              Sales

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Director of Sales in growing national, local, direct developmental business, online, and non-traditional revenue.
  • Assist with account list management, and with the forecasting and tracking of revenue.
  • Meet budgeted revenue goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Provide front line supervision to ensure Account Executives (AE’s) achieve assigned sales objectives and budgets.
  • Recruit and mentor a team of Account Executives into a cohesive unit to increase productivity and exceed minimum sales requirements.
  • Coaching and training including: review of sales proposals, in-field coaching, prospecting, cold-calling, client needs analysis, client presentations and weekly one-on-one meetings with Account Executives.
  • Maintain written plans of development for each account executive.
  • Develop sales materials and presentations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years experience in media sales.
  • Previous sales management experience preferred.
  • College degree preferred.
  • The ability to exceed budget goals.
  • Working knowledge of Arbitron, Maximizer, and Microsoft Office.
  • A proven track record of leadership, negotiating, coaching, training, and motivating employees.
  • Demonstrated success in new direct business development.
  • Strong planning and execution skills, written, verbal communication, and organization skills.
  • Candidate must be an expert in cultivating new, direct, and developmental business, as well as Internet and NTR.
  • Valid driver’s license and state mandated automobile insurance.
  • Local market knowledge and contacts a plus.
